Our Nursery

A place children learn through play

At Riverview Kindergarden, we use an inquiry based approach to teaching and learning. We construct imaginary scenarios built around life experiences or stories that are both factual and fictional. These scenarios are in accordance with the Early Years Foundation Stage learning goals and help promote understanding, imagination, curiosity, involvement, decision making and critical thinking in children. This approach encourages children to be active in their own learning and see the educators as participants in this process. We strive to encourage children to progressively work toward a stronger understanding and greater independence.

We have even created a nurture room that helps develop their sensory skills. Feel free to contact us for more information on our curriculum. Take a look at some of the videos of our child development programmes. Visit our gallery to take a look at our facilities

Our Blue Room

Our blue room is designed for children aged between 36 months and 60 months, the playroom offers a colourful and stimulating environment in which children have the freedom to learn and explore. The pre-school room helps children develop their imagination, concentration and social skills which prepares them for school. Our skilled early years educators including an early years teacher, encourage children to explore and discover during their daily activities.

Our Green Room

Our green room is designed for children of aged between 24 months and 36 months, is a cosy and secure playroom manned by experienced and responsive early years educators. We focus on a child’s emerging needs and interests and accordingly design activities involving both adults and children. The room also has an outdoor play area perfect for toddlers

Outdoor Play

Both our playrooms have their own outdoor areas, which are accessible throughout the day. Outdoor play is a vital part of a child's growth and development, our outdoor areas are an extension to our classrooms which enhances children's holistic development.

The Key Worker System

We pride ourselves on using the key worker system throughout the nursery, your child will have an identified key worker who you will meet on your child's first day. Your child's key worker is responsible for your child's learning and development as well as meeting their needs while they are at nursery. Your child will thrive within their small key group and will quickly make friends.

Outings

Part of the Early years framework is understanding the world and we actively encourage outings in the local area and beyond. Outings give children the opportunity to learn about the world around them, they visit the local library, Parks and museums. Children love to explore and ask questions and we belive outings are a great opportunity to do this.
